Teens Can Now Hang Out At Their Own Virtual Nightclub
Be sure to check out PCD Music Lounge, a new virtual community from a company called Doppelganger (say that name five times fast on a Monday morning). The teen community site positions itself as one part social networker site Myspace and one part virtual gaming site World of Warcraft. The big selling point says the company's founder is the fact that any questionable content or sexual innuendos will be left at the door, he wants good clean fun for all teens to enjoy. The nightclub environment will allow teen users to select an identity and interact with all of the typical nuances of a hot nightclub like a jacuzzi, dim lights and virtual bouncers just in case they should get in any trouble. How a nightclub portrays good clean teen fun, when most of the time you have to be 21 just to get in one, kinda goes over my head. What kid doesn't thinking about alcohol and meeting the opposite sex when they go clubbing? We'll see, but in any case it is another bold attempt to engage the entertainment hungry Gen Y audience online.
I have to agree. Why would a teen want to go to such a censoered night club. Surely they sue these virtual worlds as part of their experimentation and learning.
