Sigg, The Latest "Must Have" Accessory On Campus
We've picked up on an interesting trend that helps illustrate a number of different attitudinal shifts we've been tracking for quite some time now. We all know that teens and college students consume bottled water more than any other beverage type including carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks and even milk or juices. At the same time, eco-friendly students talk a big game when it comes to all of those empty water bottles. Take a stroll around your local campus any chances are you might see a student carrying a slickly designed aluminum bottle that's reusable of course. Most likely that bottle is a Sigg. Funny thing is, Sigg isn't just the latest sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturer to pop-up, rather they've been around for nearly a hundred years based in Switzerland. Only recently has the company made a big push into the U.S. market and it probably couldn't have come at a better time. For anywhere from $18 to $31 consumers can purchase these fashionable reusable bottles and customize some of the designs to their preferences. Wow, they are eco-friendly and can be personalized, that's two grand slam home runs for this audience segment. How long will it be before brand marketers customize their own Siggs and use them as giveaways or GWPs when they market on campuses? Their line of kid-targeted bottles are really catchy. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
I am a student at a major state school and i have never seen or heard about this product so i am not sure where your information comes from

To clarify, our "information" comes from our 20,000+ members of our college panel. We conduct a monthly blog with 1,000 of our members about trends on campus. If we certain brands and actions i.e. like what we're observing with the Sigg bottles with more than 10%, it's worth noting. If you re-read our post you'll note I said "chances you might see a student carrying one"

SIGG is not all that safe! Please read SIGG vs Klean Kanteen - No Contest on my blog. It will open your eyes. Very important info about gender bending.

SIGG vs. Klean Kanteen? You say Sigg not safe? Klean Kanteen is made in China. Sigg is engineered and Siss made. Enamel coating is safe. Sigg also makes stainless. Sigg may be one of the safest.

Klean Kanteen comparisons mention SIGG's paint, flaking, etc but there is no paint on the inside. Scratching is on the outside. Baked on enamel is safer than the coated cookware you or most of us use. There are caveats for some liquids not recommended but this is a water bottle. Plus they make stainless steel containers as an alternative.

Products made in China are safe as long as the company contracting to have the product made ensures the materials involved and the manufacturing process is safe.
Nike shoes (and many other brand name products) are made in third world countries, do you think they aren't safe also? Those companies that had problems with lead simply didn't oversee the manufacturing process.

I will never buy a Sigg bottle. Why chance finding out the enamel they use is dangerous in the future.
