Fox Filmed Entertainment's youth division, called Atomic, just unveiled a broadband site, and I have to admit, it's pretty darn good. I first posted about Atomic launching as a separate production unit from Fox Films a couple a months ago. Essentially, the youth-focused production unit will look to produce and release up to 8 films a year. Clearly, when it comes to this market, you better have a rock solid Internet strategy and I definitely think the Fox Atomic site is right on. Perhaps that is because they have some serious talent and experience behind the site. The COO of Atomic is John Hegeman, the same guy who can take credit for validating Internet movie marketing when he was responsible for leading the marketing of the Blair Witch Project online back in '99. Given the functionality and interactive content features offered on the Atomic site, I would have to think there would be some conversation that will result in a broad agreement for cross promotion with sister sites like IGN and category leader MySpace.
