News is out today that the nation's largest video game retailer, GameStop, will begin taking "pre-orders" today. According to the release on the retailer's web site, they expect the "extremely limited supply" of available PS3s to run out in minutes. I'm sure they'll sell out, but I'm not so sure it will be in a matter of minutes. This might be more hype than anything else, because the release went on to say that even those people that put down $100 deposits aren't necessarily guaranteed a PS3 since no individual store has control over production and shipping. Well, the production part I can certainly understand, but shipping? Are you kidding, you're the largest gaming retailer in the country and you don't know where you're going to ship one of this holiday season's marquee items?
