If you want to see the latest in social networking for twentysomethings (and older) in New York City, check out hitchsters.com. Founded by a lawyer, the service attempts to hook up "like minded" NYC residents for the expensive cab ride out to the area's three airports. The service is free to use and I am still trying to figure out how the company intends to make any money.
I think it's brilliant! It looks like another business that will build a loyal community and depend on advertising dollars for its key support, or get bought by a business like Yahoo! and make a mint.
